Consultation with Dr. Khanna

Here’s the Invisalign procedure in a nutshell: You’ll sit down with Dr. Khanna in our Brooklyn Orthodontic office at your complimentary consultation. He will conduct an exam and determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. Have questions? Ask away. We can go over everything from cost to what to expect from the procedure itself.

Create a Digital 3-D Image of Your Teeth

Here’s where things get really technologically advanced. The Fresh Orthodontics team will snap pictures, make iTero digital impression and take x-rays. Invisalign will then use that information to create a 3-D digital image of your teeth. Dr. Khanna utilizes the image to pinpoint the exact movements of your teeth for a precise treatment plan. You’ll even get a glimpse into the future as the technology also allows you to see a visual representation of how your teeth will look at every stage of your Invisalign treatment.

Pick Up Your Custom Aligners

The excitement begins! You’ll receive your series of custom-made, clear aligners based on your treatment plan. They’re crafted using smooth, BPA-free plastic for a comfortable fit. You’ll need to wear them for 20 to 22 hours per day but you can take them out to eat and brush and floss your teeth.

Pop in New Aligners Every Two Weeks

Swap out your magically invisible aligners for a new set every two weeks. Your teeth will gradually move into place as you continue through each new set. Because there are no wires to tighten, you’ll simply have to swing by the office six weeks or so for an occasional checkup. This way Dr. Khanna can keep an eye on your progress.

The Unveiling

All cases are different but for most simple scenarios, treatment lasts about six months to a year. More complex treatment runs about the same as traditional braces. When the day arrives, you’ll remove your final set of aligners and really get to show off that perfect smile.
