The Dangers of do it Yourself Braces

We love the DIY movement as much as the next person. But there’s a huge difference between making your own coffee table and something like DIY braces. Videos of people straightening their teeth with elastic bands, known as gap bands, rubber bands, dental floss and other objects have been getting serious views on YouTube. Now websites are selling these gap bands promising consumers they’ll leave you with a straight smile for next to nothing. A Trip Down Memory Lane

I was frantically looking through my bags and boxes of supplies this morning before our first patient of our first day came in and randomly came across this photo of a couple of my coworkers/ residency buddies and one of my first employers and NYU professor, Dr Yon Lai. We’re Open!

Fresh Orthodontics I drove in to the new office this morning at the crack of dawn. Down the East River past the Manhattan skyline with Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty off in the distance. Something I've done hundreds of times at this point. We finally pulled the construction paper off the windows and washed the salty mess of the past winter off them.
